Q. I'm going into middle school next year (6th grade) and everyone in 5th grade brought a backpack to school but I brang a knock off louis vaton bag thingy. Next year, I want to bring a purse. Will I be like the only one? If I am the only one I guess it would be kinda cool and then other kids would probably start doing it to...?! Boo plz believe every young girl who is going into middle thinks they are grown so they all have purses so take on just dont pack it with toys some of my friends did back in the days, take it beacsue once you see all your girls with purses your gonna want to take one and they will think they gave you the idea... PS Dont take no knock offs it aint worth the embarrasment save to buy a real one (takes forever to save for a real lv) but if you really want to show it off its worth, buy a mudd is that still in style??

How to clean my purse, which had apple cider vinegar spilled in it?
Q. I had a container of apple cider vinegar in my purse (I had taken some ingredients for a natural cold remedy to the office), which spilled all over my purse. In fact, I am still sick and I can't smell it at all, but everyone else can. :( Anyway, do you have any tips for cleaning my purse? It's made of synthetic material (no leather, etc.). Also, it's a rather large purse.

A. Baking soda and cornstarch are natural ways to get rid of odours. I would wash it out again with a mixture of water, laundry detergent, and baking soda. You may want to then sprinkle it with baking soda and let it sit for a while, then rinse and dry once more.

Q. 5 years ago I got a beautiful Prada purse from my husband. Shortly after, a pin broke off of the belt . I put the purse away, never bother to fix it. I have moved to a new home, lost the receipt and found the broken purse again. I tried to take it to a shoemaker, but he couldn't fix it. How do I clean gasoline out of my purse?
Q. While I was filling my little Vespa at the gas station, the nozzle came loose and spilled some gas into the space underneath my seat where I put my purse and stuff I carry and the bottom part of my purse got gas all over it. It's not exactly soaked, but it's there and the articles inside (such as cellphone, keys, etc.) did not get any of it, but did get the smell. How can I wash my purse? Can I put it in the washing machine, even though there is a warning on the lid about not putting clothes with gas in them because the fumes are a fire hazard? Can I just wash it real well with soap and water in my sink? Please help!

A. If it is a plastic or vinyl purse, go ahead with mild soap and water and let the inside dry. If it is a leather purse you will need to use saddle soap. You might try some upholstery cleaner for a fabric purse.

What can I do about a fake leather purse that feels almost sticky and it squeaks when moved?
Q. I just got this really cute fake leather purse from one of my favourite stores and they went to the back to get me a new one but the leather feels weird. Its not exactly sticky but its almost rubbery and i paid alot for this purse. Is it just one of those things that need time to wear into or is this permanent? A. Try to smear it with classic Nivea face cream. Leave it for a few hours (maybe whole night) and then rinse out with serviette or soft towel. I have never done this to my leather stuff, but If I need someday I would probably give it a try. Good luck :)

A. If you are really trying to take a purse to an amusment park you might as well get a locker to put it in. Most parks will not let you take anything on a ride that is hand held. The best (or worst in some minds) thing to do if you really wanted to carry it with you is to get the good old FannyPack and kick it old school.

How do you remove makeup from inside your purse?

A. Well first of all it depends on the size, the brand and the model. Channel's are most likely the most expensive,the LV , the prada and then gucci. But that is no guarantee it depends. It also depends how old they are...the older (vintage ) the less expensive. In storre the classic chanels go for 2000-4000 dollars, online they are priced 1000-2000 for a great condition used one, that is a model between 2005-2010 It really depends on the bag. It's usually marked down by anywhere from 500 - -2000 dollars depending on the condition I would be interested in maybe purchasing, if you would like someone to sell some of them to :) hope that helped

A. If possible, check the site/catalog/other official source of the brand you're looking to buy, and see if the style of the bag you're looking at (the cheapie) matches one of the official models. I found a phony Louis Vuitton because the one I found on eBay wasn't an actual LV style... so, of course, where did it come from? ;) There are sites out there that tell you what to look for/ask about specifically, like a certain kind of interior, strap, etc. Obviously, try to contact the seller and see if they'll send you more pictures so you can get a better look at what you're buying. A. I found this tip on eHow.com from a user there on their "How to Treat Stains On Leather" page: "If you have a stain on leather, you can actually use an SOS Brillo pad and gently rub the spot. That will usually remove any stain. Then use mineral oil as a protectant and it will it to give it a true shine. We do restoration and remediation, trust me, it works." Hope this helps.

How can I remove ball point ink stain from a purse lining?
Q. I bought a beautiful Talbot's leather purse at a thrift store. It is like new except a ball point pen apparently leaked leaving a big stain on the canvas lining. I can turn the lining out of the purse. My question is twofold... What will effectively remove the stain and will it clean the lining without damaging the leather? I am afraid that a cleaner would soak into the lining and wick through it to the leather.

A. You say that you can turn the lining out of the purse. Do so, and lay a washcloth or several layers of paper towels under the spot on the lining. Now, go in thru the lining opening and apply hairspray to the spot. Press the spot with another washcloth or some paper towels. Do this several times. If the hairspray is removing the stain, then continue to treat it until the spot is gone. If the hairspray does not remove all the stain, try using fingernail polish remover in the same manner as with the hairspray. Always be sure to press on the spot and get as much of the solvent out of the fabric as possible. After treating the spot as above,spray it with some clean water and blot it really dry. Plug in your hair dryer and finish… [cont.]

How do I get new leather odor out of a purse, please?
Q. I recently purchased a new leather purse. The "new leather" odor is very penetrating and strong. I cannot keep it next to my bed because the odor almost gives me a headache when I sleep and cannot hang it in my closet either for fear it will penetrate my clothes. A. You need to use a specific mold killer for leather such as LTT Em Clean. This will kill the spores so that they will not come back. Cleaning on its own will not do this and the mold will simply keep returning.
