How much is an LA Fitness membership?
Q. I just moved to Milwaukee and had a chance to peek in the Bayshore LA Fitness. I didn't have time to tour it so I didn't get any membership quotes. Does anyone have a membership there and can let me know the membership fees?
Asked by bigbambooj - Sat Sep 12 01:59:54 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. At my place it's $50 initiation fee and $29.99 per month. When you walk in LA fitness, there are sale representatives that come up to you, trying to give you deals for their club. They will start out with an outrageous price like $150 initiation fee with $29.99 per month. You would have to bargain with them in order for them to lower their fees. Even when they sound desperate and say that this deal will only last for today, it's probably BS.

Can I put my LA Fitness membership on hold?
Q. I'm going on vacation for a few months. Can I put my LA Fitness membership on hold until I get back so I won't get charged? I'm aware I should be asking them dumbas$. But last time I checked LA Fitness is not open at 11:20 PM. I want to see if anyone else knows before I go in tomorrow. And no, I'm not under contract, being charged monthly.

How much does it cost for an LA fItness membership?
Q. I want to join LA fitness here in miami. I went on the website and they do not list any prices. I like to work out at home, but I think I would enjoy a wider range of physical activity. Does anyone know how much I should expect to pay when I sign up, and possibly how much it will be monthly?
Asked by D - Sun Nov 26 22:34:46 2006 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. $39 monthly, with an initian fee that varies by state. In LA, it was $129. Check and see if your company has a program with them. I now pay $20 a month.

How much should I pay for an LA Fitness Membership?
Q. From what I've read the price depends on how well you negotiate. I'm looking at a new club that just opened up in my area. Any tips for negotiating the best price? What's the best price that any of you have gotten? I want out of initiation fees altogether and want to get the monthly as low as possible with a contract no greater than 1 year.
Asked by Nathan E - Sat Apr 7 12:46:39 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. if its a new club they probably have some low fees for early signers. i think wholly free would have been before it opened. if you keep your eyes peeled they will have promotions from time to time .. but so long as you aren't paying too much it probably makes more sense to join when you want rather than when they are looking for more members.

How much would it cost for my wife and I to get a one-year LA Fitness membership?
Q. I know that it all depends on where you live and the promotions, but I'd like to get a ballpark number. I live in South Florida and I am hoping to go into the "negotiations" with as much info as possible.

A. I don't know exactly how much it costs per week, but when I did it you had to pay per week. Also you have to buy the LA lite bars ($16 for a box), and you have the option to buy vitamins... It can get a bit pricey.

Because I went with her, and they saw what I paid, they gave her a discount to 50 a month. I'm talking about the one in lake success. The gym is great! The classes r great and its so big, 2 floors so you never have to wait for a machine or anything. I love it. Good luck ;)

A. Although I live in IL, I can tell you that they are always running deals...I got in at $29.99/month before the gym ever opened...they claim the regular rate is $49.99 a month with a $250 initiation fee. Yet, I always see them running specials. It is co-ed. Not sure what gyms you have there, but I find it's MUCH nicer than Ballys, but not as nice as Lifetime. I would like if they had a steam room and towel service.

A. It depends on what specials are going on and how well you can negotiate with the sales people. But myself I got a membership for $30.00 a month. Also try to avoid paying for the sign up fee there's no need for you to pay for this.

How do I cancel LA Fitness Pro Results membership?
Q. I have completed my initial term (I'm not trying to cancel early), but don't want to purchase any more sessions. I know there's something about having to send a letter somewhere but I have misplaced my contract. Also, I am not currently going in (just saving the ones I've accumulated) because I am on bed rest so I can't just ask when I go in. If anyone has the info on what I need to do, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

A. A few people I've been in contact with have sent them a certified letter through the post office to cancel their membership. This will prove the day you mailed it and allow you to find out through the Postal Service's web site when it was delivered. They must sign for it, also, so they won't be able to say they didn't get it. I don't know if they have a certain address they want it sent to, though. I hope this helps.

If I cancel my LA Fitness membership will my credit rating be affected?
Q. OK So I signed up for an LA fitness membership but they don't have half of the equipment I realise I need. It was less than 14 days ago that I signed up so I think that I shoul be OK but I'm not sure. I'm worried that they might deliberately put a 'black mark' against my credit rating if I cancel my membership. In which case I'd rather pay the 55 per month. I'm a student living in London though so I can't really justify the expense, I shouldn't have signed up to a contract. Also one of the reasons I joined up is so I could rollerskate to the gym, take a shower and then go to college but there are actually showers in a train station closer to school. Please advise me on how to handle it and any other matters that you think might be… [cont.]

A. You signed a contract with them. You are going to have to beg them to cancell. Go in person, tell them you lost your job. They will keep charging you unless you take action. If you don't pay them - it will go to collections and show up on your credit report. /

Q. and which is better 24 hr fitness or LA Fitness?
Asked by bittersweetchicks - Sat Jun 6 17:17:22 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. The cost all depends on where you live. Ones closer to city areas will be more expensive than ones in suburb areas. Honestly, I would go with almost any gym but LA Fitness. That chain is filled with scams that pull you into long term contracts (which grueling processes for dropping memberships), and a lot of bogus perks.
