Q. has anyone had any bad experience with LA Fitness kids club? I just went for my first day, and when i picked up my one year old son he had a bump on his head and a wound on his nose. the caregivers didn't give me any explaination of what happened. I am just worried if they watch the kids well and what experience anyone else had i go to the one in sterling, virginia

A. I work for LA fitness, although not in the kids club. Theres usually only 1 or 2 teenages to work the kids club. They do what they can but they are often highly outnumbered by alot of very hyper kids. That said, your kids are going to get a few little scrapes on any playground, nothing any teacher, employee, or parent can do about that. Ask to speak to a manager if its serious, but they cant watch every kid every second.

LA fitness keeps calling me asking me to update my account information?
Q. I haven't gone to LA fitness in over a year, I canceled my membership. I had a personal training contract as well, which has ended by now though. Everytime they call and say they are from LA fitness and ask me to update account information I hang up. Is this bad? Do you think I may owe them money, and could this mess up my credit? Or are they just calling to try to get me to join them again?
Asked by jeff - Mon Mar 22 18:57:57 2010 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Your best bet is to read your contract you had with them. Maybe you owe them money or there might be a specific clause you missed. In any event, next time they call ask them for their phone number and you will have the person they want to talk to call them back. Just to make sure it is not a scam. What ever you do, do not give any personal information over the phone. Go in person if need be.

Can you join LA fitness temporarily for six months?
Q. I want to join LA fitness for only six months because i cant afford to buy a full year pass or what ever it is. Does LA let you buy a six month pass or let you join temporarily? If so, how much would it cost per month? I want to join LA fitness in South Windsor. How much would it cost to join and how much per month?
Asked by MD12 - Sun Aug 16 23:03:40 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. You'll have to pay a registration fee and then pay monthly for as long as you want or as short as you want. If you print a try-the-gym-for-free pass from their website and bring it to the LA Fitness and act really interested in the gym they'll let you have one free workout day there and they will take your driver's license and keep it at the front desk until you're finished working out. Afterwords, they will try to give you a good deal so that you'll join the gym. It's usually about a $150 registration fee and then about $30 per month until you decide to quit. I heard that they raised their rates last month to $35 per month, but when they try to give you the good deal they'll tell you that for this one-time only you'll be able to pay $30… [cont.]

what kind of grades and education do you need to work at a gym like la fitness?

A. A gym would want you to have some type of an education in health and fitness. Your grades aren't going to effect your job chances as long as you have a degree. Chat it up with the guys that work at the gym. It you like working out definitely check out that career.

What is a good price for one month of a gym membership at LA Fitness?
Q. I'm going to LA Fitness tomorrow to see if I like the place and also to see how much it will be. The guy on the phone said that they only do month-to-month memberships. I'm just wondering what other people pay who go there, or to any other gym.

A. I pay 38 dollars Canadian for a gym that I go to. It's a sports and wellness center. So has basketball courts, a workout area, a couple pools, a sauna and so forth.

What are the benefits of signing up for LA Fitness?
Q. I am interested in joining a gym and have heard good things about LA Fitness. How much does it cost? And is there a cost for the extra classes such as pilates, yoga, etc? Thanks :)
Asked by TB - Wed Sep 23 21:39:09 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Generally LA Fitness is a pretty good gym if you're interested in no frills but want a gym that doesn't smell like a locker room. No towels, no long term renting of lockers, and personal fitness trainers cost extra. The classes are free but often the scheduling is not terribly convenient. It's actually a pretty good value for what it is.

Is an LA Fitness membership a good idea?
Q. I've been thinking about getting an LA fitness membership for awhile now. I've read a lot of bad reviews, however, about how they've ripped so many people off by charging them too much money when it was agreed upon with the LA fitness employee and the person signing up that they would only be charged a certain amount. Does anyone have any feedback about this? Also, does LA Fitness drop the sign-up fee if you join under a family member's name?

A. I had a similar experience. My mom works at a hospital and they did a membership drive there. It was supposed to be 20 dollars a month for the first year, and then 24 "for ever other month there after" Well, they stuck to there 20 dollar first year promise, but then jacked it up to 30! And worse, they didn't even give her a letter to tell her, she found it out by her credit card statement. Personally, we are now both with 24 hour fitness and are very happy. We have a sport club membership, its a club with tons of machines and bikes, pool, sauna, classes, basketball, etc... and it's only 25 a month or so. Just look for specials on there website or go in one day, they have a membership drive once a month.

Q. How much starting dose a LA Fitness Pro Results trainer make per hour. anyone know and are there any variables ect. sales
Asked by Kerry B - Tue Jun 30 23:05:39 2009 - - 1 Answers - 1 Comments
A. It varies. When I used to train I would charge some clients 50 for a 1/2hr session while others I would charge 25. I worked off commission so if I made say 1000 in a week, 300 would go to the company I'm working for and 700 to me. You make as much as you can sell, getting people to sign the contract can be difficult sometimes. I never liked using the high pressure sales tactic but it does work.

How to cancel LA Fitness membership in a legal letter???
Q. I bought a Pro Results personal training contract at LA Fitness. They Gave me a 5 day guarantee that i could cancel it in. The catch is that the contract says i have to mail a letter to the Home Base of La fitness in Irvine, CA. As long as the letter is post marked before midnight of of the 5th day, is it still legally inside the 5 guarantee??? Also, I read online that La fitness often claims to never receive these letters form members and ignores them. What can I do to ensure they don't try to pull this on me? And lastly, exactly what do i have to write in the letter in terms of information. And should I threaten to get my lawyer involved etc to get them the cancel it on time??

A. since they are asking letters from members you do not have to write a letter as if you were an attorney. just state, name, address, club location (city and address), membership number, date you signed, and that you want to cancel. date the letter, heck you can even get a member to witness you siging the letter and placing in evelope and closing. just get their name and add to letter, not required. have the letter stamped at post office and keep calling them daily.

A. no fitness center will advertise their fees online because each training program is different for each individual. The best thing to do would be to call up and ask about their prices and if there are any extra fees that you have to pay (subscriptions fee, personal trainer, specific class, etc)

Q. I want to join a gym, there is an LA fitness right by my house so I was thinking of going there, but on their site it says nothing about monthly cost.

how much does a membership to la fitness cost?
Q. whatever the lowest package or rate is.. how does this price compare to 24 hour fitness?

A. LA Fitness tends to be cheaper than the 24-Hour Fitness Super Sport membership that allows you to work out at any gym. I've belonged to both; I preferred LA Fitness but dropped my membership when I moved to a city without a convenient facility. The cheapest package is the family plan, if you can get in on that. The cost to me was $30 a month, and I could work out anywhere.
