Hearing impairment or hard of hearing or deafness refers to conditions in which individuals are fully or partially unable to detect or perceive at least some frequencies of sound which can typically be heard by members of their species. Use of the term impaired implies that deafness presents an inherent disadvantage to an animal, a view that is rejected within the Deaf culture movement, where the terms Deaf and hard of hearing are preferred. I once heard that the deaf puppies get put to sleep, is that true? If not, then what do you do with the deaf puppies? Is it still a big problem? These are some questions I've been wondering for a while now. Thanks to anyone who answers! Asked by offlights - Thu Dec 27 12:17:54 2007 - - 8 Answers - 0 Comments A. It's the backyard breeders, and puppymills and little kids breeding their dogs that are producing the deaf Dals. Answered by PawPrintz - Thu Dec 27 12:26:43 2007 How can a blind and deaf person communicate? Q. I was just wondering. I know a place where 3 blind people work and several deaf people, and they all work alongside the sighted and hearing people. But how would a deaf person communicate with a blind person? Apart from tactille. This would require a deaf person to learn braille. Asked by paddingzero - Tue Aug 26 06:20:02 2008 - - 8 Answers - 0 Comments A. With Usher's Syndrome, you at least have some time before you lose your sight to train yourself for when you do go blind. I've seen the Deaf communicate with Deaf-blind people, hearing people communicate with Deaf-blind people, and even Deaf-blind people communicate with other Deaf-blind people. This is all by signing in the blind person's hands. This is not done by grasping the blind person's hand. You just sign normally, and the blind person will feel around your hands as needed. They will all tell you that they have gone through periods of… [cont.] Answered by Lor - Tue Aug 26 08:00:58 2008 What is the quality of life for a deaf mini daschund?
