Deaf basketball is basketball played by deaf people. Despite the fact that basketball is a sport that has too many whistles due to its “no contact” nature of play, the deaf players have adopted well to reading the flow of the game and can easily tell when a foul is committed. Sign language is also used to communicate referee decisions and communication between players. Another high profile deaf basketball player is the Slovenian professional basketball player Miha Zupan born deaf yet plays power forward at highest professional level in Europe.
