Aerobics is a form of physical exercise that combines rhythmic aerobic exercise with stretching and strength training routines with the goal of improving all elements of fitness (flexibility, muscular strength, and cardio-vascular fitness). It is usually performed to music and may be practiced in a group setting led by an instructor, although it can be done solo and without musical accompaniment. With the goal of preventing illness and promoting physical fitness, practitioners perform various routines comprising a number of different dance-like exercises. Formal aerobics classes are divided into different levels of intensity and complexity. Aerobics classes may allow participants to select their level of participation according to their fitness level. Many gyms offer a wide variety of aerobic classes for participants to take. Each class is designed for a certain level of experience and taught by a certified instructor with a specialty area related to their particular class. From Wikipedia under the

I just got 2 pairs of shoes, one running and the other training, but I'm not sure which one should be used when doing things such as an aerobics class or video. Thanks in advance for your help. Asked by youngjr42 - Sat Jan 2 13:40:16 2010 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. Both would be fine. Aerobics contains lots of movement, running, jumping, twisting etc so you need shoes that absorb shock and support your ankle. This will ensure the impact on your knees and hips is minimized. Have fun! Answered by Nate - Sun Jan 3 13:07:41 2010 What is required to wear to water aerobics? Q. I will be starting water aerobics in a few weeks and am wondering what I should wear to class. #1: Would there be a problem to wear a two piece outfit with a top that is similar to the top of a bathing suit and the bottom being swim shorts. Will I be able to move appropriately in the water with this swim outfit? #2: Do I need to wear water shoes? Will this lessen any impact on my joints? Thank you for your help. Asked by lisa2004 - Tue Jun 3 22:59:44 2008 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments A. i have seen people wear two pieces to water aerobics...just keep in mind that you will probably be doing lot of bouncing and jumping so you will want to make sure that the top is supportive enough and also well fitted so that "the girls" don't pop out. I doubt that your class will require water shoes however I believe that most people like to wear them for traction and/or so the bottom of their feet don't get all roughed up.
